Description: 

The Production Supervisor Position in Alabama is accountable for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the wood panel facility while on shift. Accomplishes job bysupervising staff; organizing and monitoring work flow; with primary accountability for communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Reports to: Plant Operations Manager

  • Direct Reports: 15-20 Direct Reports

  • Rotating 12 Hour Shift 

    Accountabilities:

  1. Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

  2. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

  3. Maintains safe environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  4. Maintains staff by, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.

  5. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

  6. Maintains quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

  7. Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  8. Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

  9. Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.

  10. Maintains safe environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  11. Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

  12. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  13. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 

    Required  Qualifications: 

  1.  3-5 years’ experience supervising hourly production team members in an industrial manufacturing environment.

  2. 5-10 years experience working in a heavy industrial environment

  3. 3-5 years’ experience recognizing worksite hazards, implementing safety policies, practices and procedures,
