Years Experience Required:  5 years of wood millwork finishing supervision experience.


The Finishing Production Supervisor job in Oregon will provide millwork finishing which includes sanding, painting, final assembly, packaging and shipping.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise millwork finishing which includes sanding, painting, final assembly and packaging and shipping.

  • Consult with others to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments

  • Interact with Plant Manager on potential new products and the modification of existing procedures to keep the company progressive

  • Manage department of 20+ employees

  • Assist in troubleshooting technical problems where needed

  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments and contingency plans for schedule compliance

  • Read and analyze production schedules to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates, outputs, and capacities

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions

  • Conduct systematic checks on equipment

  • Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals

  • Consult with management and subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances

  • Direct, train, and administer federal, state, and local codes and regulations 

  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives

  • Interpret and support company policies and procedures for workers

  • Provide leadership in times of emergency, evacuation, or employee injuries

  • Maintain company culture in alignment with company mission and vision statements

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with job shop processes.

  • Experience with paint spray machines

  • Experience and knowledge of waste disposal.

  • Experience with finish stages

  • Needs excellent problem solving skills

  • Ability to train coach and mentor team members effectively

  • Finishing experience

  • Progressive management experience.

  • Required to motivate, develop, and identify the best people for the job

  • Required to objectively assess subordinate and organizational performance

  • Must be able to schedule and coordinate daily and weekly activities

  • Must be able and willing to assess the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in speech and writing
